Prayer Request

Hi guys. Here are some things you can pray for during your quiet time.

1. Do pray for my youth fellowship camp and the youth camp organized by FGA. Pray that God will grant us with good numbers and smooth planning.
2. Pray for the Vacation Bible School which will be running in many churches. this event is for kids in primary school and it teaches them a lot about Jesus.
3. Pray for Tim Goh and us Top 3 as we draft out amendments for the prefect's constitution. Pray that we will be able to provide the best foundation for the board of prefects.
4. Pray for our trip next year as we plan it in the upcoming weeks. Pray that our activities will be approved by the school and that many prefects will participate in it.
4. Thank God for the improved performance of the prefects. There is really much improvement in your duty performance.

Thanks guys. oh ya, and it has been some time since we got together to pray. maybe we can get together to pray some time later, or next year. I was thinking whether we can stay back for a short 20 minutes once a week, starting next year to pray for each other and the prefect board. what do you think about that?

well, it seems like a long time since i updated this blog...

just a few days ago, i stumbled upon a book in the dusty shelves of my house. It belongs to my aunt and i didnt know how it ended there in the first place. anyway, the book is called how to hear from God, by Joyce Meyer. It is really an awesome book and I do encourage all of you to read it.

This book answered and told me much on communicating with God. I believe most of us face such a dilemma. because if that, sometimes we think that God is not answering our prayers, or we may even feel that we are not competent enough.

There was one part in the book that really struck me. You know of the song "be still"? Well, we sing it over and over again in church, but most of the times we fail to realise it in our lives. We pour onto him our endless shopping list, yet we fail to wait for his answers. It's like someone asking you tonnes and tonnes of questions, yet not waiting for your reply to each one of them.

In Matthew Chapter 13, Jesus told his disciples that people have ears to hear, but they hear not; and eyes to see, but they see not. As the book explained, Jesus was not talking about our physical ears, but our spiritual ones which we are given when we are born into God's kingdom. however, we need to have a quiet, expectant attitude to be able to hear Him.

It's definitely not easy to do so, seeing how busy our lives can be. But looking back at my previous experiences, I believe it is more worth the time to listen to Him rather that fill it with piles of workload.

There were many times when God was telling me to do something, but because of the hustle in my life, I end up doing other things instead of listening to what God has to say. I end up making mistakes and wasting more time repeating the whole task again.
